Sometimes a lock needs to be replaced, not rekeyed. It may be worn out, damaged after a break-in attempt, or simply too weak for the door it protects. Locksmith Knights changes and installs door locks for homes and businesses across Raleigh and Wake County.

How it works
- Call us with the type of door and what is wrong with the current lock.
- The technician measures the door prep and confirms the new lock will fit.
- The old lock is removed, the new one installed and aligned, and the strike plate checked.
- We test the lock with the door open and closed and hand you the keys.
Choosing the right lock
Deadbolts are rated by the BHMA grade system, where Grade 1 is the toughest and Grade 3 the lightest. For an exterior door, a Grade 1 or Grade 2 deadbolt with a solid strike plate and long screws into the door frame makes the biggest difference. Tell us what you want to protect and the technician will recommend options. If you only need new keys, rekeying is usually cheaper.

Questions we hear
Can you install a lock I already bought?
Usually yes, as long as it fits the door prep. We check this before starting.
My door was kicked in. Can you secure it tonight?
Yes. We repair or replace the lock and strike plate so the door can be locked again the same visit where the damage allows.
Will the new lock work with my old key?
Not unless it is keyed to match. We can key new locks to one key if you want a single key for several doors.
