Keyless entry means no more hiding a key under the mat or lending out a copy. A keypad or smart lock lets you give each person their own code and remove it when you no longer need it. Locksmith Knights installs and sets up electronic locks for homes and small businesses in Raleigh and Wake County.

The part people get wrong is usually the door, not the lock. We check the door prep, backset and thickness first so the lock lines up and latches smoothly.

What we install and set up

  • Keypad deadbolts and keypad handlesets
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth smart locks
  • Fingerprint and touchscreen locks
  • User codes for family, tenants, cleaners and guests
  • Replacement of older electronic locks that stopped working
  • A mechanical key backup so you are never locked out by dead batteries

How it works

  1. Tell us which lock you bought or what features you want.
  2. We check the door and frame, then install the lock and adjust the latch and strike.
  3. We program your codes and test the lock several times.
  4. We show you how to change codes and replace the batteries.

Before you buy

Confirm the lock fits your door thickness and has a backup key. If your home uses a smart-home hub, check that the lock supports it. If you are unsure, call before you order and we will tell you what to look for.

Questions we hear

What happens if the batteries die?

Most electronic locks warn you well before the batteries run out, and many have a key override or a terminal for a 9-volt battery as a backup.

Can you replace my regular deadbolt with a keypad lock?

Yes, in most cases. The existing door prep usually accepts a standard electronic deadbolt.

Can you reset the codes on a lock I already have?

Yes. We can reset or reprogram many electronic locks, including after a tenant moves out.
